Perspective

During class today one point that arose during discussion covered the impact of perspectives the author provides. Perspective proves to be important not only in books but also in every day life. With every story one must consider the perspective that tells the story. This issue arises with every decision that people make. One perfect example of how perspective can influence a story goes back to Nazi Germany. If someone went back in time and asked Hitler to explain his actions and the rational behind them instead of describing mass murder and cruel treatment he would claim that his actions improve the human race and occur for the good of all. While everyone knows what he actually did, in his mind the actions he took benefited society and were perfectly justifiable. By this logic everyone will describe their actions in a positive light as to each person their choice seems right and they stand by it even if they did not like it because in their mind the choice they took represented the best option. This mindset of humans impacts the stories that people tell and the books they write. For every person, they explain events from their own perspective and how they view it despite the fact there may be another perspective that tells a different story. To look at the Hitler example he would claim that his actions benefited people while others would claim he represented an evil force. Which perspective should be believed for neither can truly be called false as each represent the truth depending on ones perspective. While each draws and describes the same thing they each do so in their own individual way colored by their perspective  

The argument simply goes round and round with the end never in sight. 

What perspectives should be believed and which should be disregarded? That question and the answer to it depends on your perspective as to which you believe. Every story contains multiple perspectives that must be considered while searching for the truth. But are they not all true in their own way?
