As we approached class today people started talking about the substitute teacher. The same one as last time, and we all know how that turned out. So once people realized who the sub was the debate started over what assignment we preferred, writing an essay or trying to have a discussion like we did last time. Interestingly enough, the people I talked to split on their opinion. About half seemed to think we should take another shot at running a discussion with the sub while the other half seemed to prefer the essay. Personally, after the last attempt at a discussion without Ms. Serensky I believe that the essay would be easier and work better, and can not stand writing. However some thought that it would be a good test of the class to attempt to discuss the book, one that we just started and do not know all that well yet, with the sub like last time and see what happened. Would it result in the slightly entertaining and slightly disastrous event it ended up being last time? Who knows because we just wrote an essay, and that assignment can be done no matter who runs the class.
